Designers united in action, together for better!

  1. menu with images

Making a menu with a bunch of images sequenced - in fact you could extend it to a 'social footer' setting with a bunch of social icons (that we could choose from).

Super work fellas - you've got it right. :)

    Hi Sammer,

    Thanks for the feedback

As for now, you can edit the menu fill properties.

You may use color, stroke and shadows, as well as using an image as a button.

You may also set different properties (and images) for each button state (mouse hover, selected button…)

As for using a different images for each menu button (“sequenced”), this would really bring total freedom of design.

Hopefully, this feature will gather enough votes, so it will be moved to the top of the priority list for the development team.

  2. Password protect pages to secure access

URL spoofing reveals all the pre-launch designs that people are working on. Maybe a simple password to protect them?

  5. Built-in Blog

You guys have a concept here that I couldn't be happier to find. Complete free reign of creative appearance very similar to Photoshop, but for building and designing websites.

    Now for my suggestions...

A built-in blog feature that allows for retroactive posting (choose date stamp to "import" previous posts) and can be incorporated into the site's search abilities, And a search bar that can be set to work with the content found throughout the website.

    More to follow I'm sure...

Hi Bojan, thanks for the idea.

You can easily add a countdown widget using our Widget Tool and choosing the “HTML” option.

You should go to http://countingdownto.com/ – where they allow you to create a countdown with various options to choose and design.

When your done designing, just click on the “Embed” button and copy the code displayed.

After that, go back to Webydo and paste the widget code in the Widget Tool.

  8. Export content to template

It would be great to have the ability to export the finished project to several popular CMS like Joomla!, WordPress, etс.

    Thanks for the idea!

Keyboard shortcuts are always a good thing,
    we just love them!

We hope this feature will gather enough votes, so it will be moved to the top of the priority list for the development team.

  10. Dragging elements

When dragging a table, menu, or image, the screen should automatically scroll with your selection so you don't have to stop at the edge of the screen.

  11. Custom site name in the URL for complimentary sites ( Testing Phase )

I am not sure if this issue has been mentioned or if I have can not figure out how to do it.

It would be nice to have a url with a specific/ custom name.

EX: http://customdesigns.webydo.com/?v=1 instead of what I have currently: http://site206871.webydo.com/?v=1

Under the “My Branding” tab on the dashboard, there is a section called “Publish Sites Under Your Own Domain Name”.

This will allow you to connect your own domain name and publish sites under your own name.

Instead of publishing sites under Webydo’s sub-domain like this: site123.webydo.com,
publish your sites under your own domain, like this: site123.yourowndomain.com.

  12. Mobile and tablet preview

How about three preview modes, desktop, tablet and mobile. This way you will instantly see how your design is looking across all devices and amend it accordingly?

We’re happy to announce that the brand new mobile/tablet editor is now available for all users!

With the new editor, you can fine tune your mobile/tablet version of your website using the various customization options. These options allow you to change the scale of items, move features around, hide content and change the overall design of the mobile/tablet website, to provide as great an experience on mobile as possible.

Edit content from just one place!

Changes made by the CMS users to the content on the desktop version of these sites are reflected within the mobile versions as well.
This means that your content manager will continue editing the site as he always did.

The mobile editor is now available in beta mode.

So please, feel free to send us as much feedback as you can, so we can continue to add more features to it.

    Hope you will like…

  13. Media Library

Unless I'm missing it, it would be nice to have our photos that we upload be "stored" and allow us to organise them into folders and such, like a file browser.

Hey guys! Guess what? We just launched ‘The Media Library’!

The new Media Library stores all your images online in one place – so It works like a cloud, meaning that you will be able to access them anytime, anywhere.

The best part of all is all you have to do is upload the image just like you always do and it will be automatically stored in the library.

You may also upload your all images at once to the Media Library, and then you are free to work fully online.

Enjoy this new feature and please try it and send us your feedback so we can continue to polish it off for you.

Keep on Designing on! Rock on Webydo’ers!

  14. it would be better you put the crop tool like a photoshop crop tool, to make easier to cropping the image directly on the images.

    Hi!

Webydo allows you to crop the images using the “zoom” option.

If you want to use just a portion of the image, this is how it’s done:

Choose an image and click the Zoom button to open a slider. To fine-tune the portion that you want to show, press and hold the mouse button inside the zoom frame and drag it to position.

At any time in the future, you may click the Reset button to cancel the change.

  15. Enable JS & CSS to be added in the <head>

The depth of visual design and widgets is good, but we there will always be something that needs a little bit more to achieve.

Squarespace & Unbounce are good reference examples where this is supported.

We’re happy to announce that you now have the ability to add your own code to any section (including the “Head” section) of your Webydo sites.

You may add and edit the code in all the site’s sections in order to have full control of your site, and to be able to easily embed widgets that need code to be added to different sections of a page.

You may also add code to your site’s CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) document, if you wish to do so.

In order to add/edit code, in the studio, click on the “Pages” link on the top menu. Next to each of your site’s pages, you will find the “Add Code” option.

    Hope you like it :)

  17. Responsiveness

This is an awesome free product, its about time someone cerated something like this so well done!! I've only just discovered this so I havent used it yet but would like to.

However, I have a question, does it create responsive code? You say that the code will be cross-browser compatible but does it create code with media queries so that it reconfigures on any device?

If not then you need to address that issue since more and more people will be viewing websites purely on mobile devices instead of laptops.

    If it does then great!...but I haven't seen that…

  18. dynamic content

Im not sure if this is currently possible yet, but so far it seems like only static html pages are supported. It would be nice to have content that changes on a single page vs navigating to multiple pages. Is this possible?

Webydo does have dynamic content. For example, you can make fantastic text overlay effects that occur when you mouse-over images. Just add an image and select “Text Caption”.

We are currently in the last stages of developing rollover states for shapes and text boxes just like there is for menu buttons. Hopefully it will be developed and released as soon as possible.

We are also working on the development of anchor tags for links. (Anchor tags scroll the page to a specific spot when a button or link is clicked to scroll the page smoothly to the desired area).

  19. CSS3

I use hover and animations a lot. Just a little to give my websites a little zing with a nice elegance look to them. It would be nice to have that as well on hear.

    OK…
    Webydo has full alignment tools.
You may choose a couple of elements and then The alignment tools appear on the top menu, or just click the right mouse button, and the alignment options will appear.
